Whether or not a PrideFC Fighter needs to take mma supplements for preparation, for an actual bout, or after the bout, mma supplements are in debate for some mma fighters. For me the answer is quite clear.

Fight preparation involves a Mixed martial artist that will be involved in a fight training camp and will be going through a very strict schedule to condition their body and mind for a brawl. These pre-brawl ready camps usually last about four weeks and will involve much trauma and injury to the Mixed martial artist's body. MMA supplements can help here. While many mma vitamins are made, each has a unique ability tailored to a certain mma UFC Fighter's regiment. Some mma supplements will assist with muscle and joint recovery, while others will be used for increasing VO2 and VO-max.

For the actual brawl, many UFC Fighters are forced to weigh-in and come into the bout at a pre-determined weight class. In the larger mma fight organizations, fighters are given a 24-hour time period where a MMA fighter weighs in and actually fights. This grace period allows a UFC Fighter to dehydrate before the weigh-in, and regain their water weight and mass to perform at optimal conditions for the fight. MMA supplements exist to aid fighters in both the dehydration period, as well as the weight re-uptake. Thus, making it possible for a UFC Fighter to weigh into the bout at a much higher weight than originally set, giving the fighter a huge advantage.

MMA supplements, while very often used during the preparations of a match, are often neglected for post brawl regiments. Ironically, this is when a Mixed martial artist is most supplement deprived, and where the largest benefit could be obtained. During the preparation of the match, Mixed martial artists will often obsess about every calorie; protein and liquid that enters their body, but after the fight has taken place, the UFC Fighter generally consider themselves off the conditioning regiment.
